Geralding Brooks - People of the Book
A fictionalised account of an ancient, illuminated, Jewish manuscript this is an engaging and well-crafted novel. Brooks writes from several perspectives giving us several snatches of the book's history all tied together with a modern-day account of it's restoration. There is sadness, romance and intrigue as well as a great understanding of the cultures represented.
